NEW - Raising Cane's 3-man TT
by Eddie Corcoran, 3/22/08

It's been 6 months since the District 40K and I totally forgot how painful TT's can be.

The Baton Rouge TT had a really good turnout, which it usually does because of its location and time of the year. We entered three strong teams that all finished well. Time trialing in mid-March can either feel somewhat gratifyng or very disheartening. I got the disheartening feeling. Thanks for the legs and heart of Brett Regan and Mike Corcoran for pulling me around the TT course. Congratulations to VJ, Howard and Steve for finishing second in the 45+ category with a fantastic time of 46:55 and congratulations to Todd, Kevin and Jay for finishing third in the 35+ category with a time of 47:19. Great Job!

A first place 35+, sceond place 45+ and a third place 35+ is a pretty good start for the 2008 BMW boys.

Rouge Roubaix X
by Eddie Corcoran, 3/09/08

Once again, with 20 of the 103 or so miles left to race I asked myself, WHY, WHY do I do this freaking race!

Mike, Howard, Eddy D. and myself ventured to Saint Francisville to survive the 10th annual Rouge Roubaix. We all finished with no mechanical issues and no broken bones, so in my estimation, it was a success. A special thanks to Ben Schuler for working the feed zones. Mike and I were super grateful for Ben's assistance but Howard and Eddy D. made a wrong turn on the course and never had the chance to get use of Ben's super feed techniques.

In my opinion, the dynamics of the Rouge Roubaix have changed drastically over the past few years. This race has started to attract some very strong racing teams. Every year as I roll up to the start line I get a more and more intimidated by the level of competition. I guess the demands of the course and the length and time of year make it attractive for some good hard early season racing.
